Extra Issue. This is an additional issue so that you can get the attached notice of next Sunday’s Franciscan Family Day at Campbelltown in time and so the same postage lets you have two of the many documents that are available to be circulated. To be sent later are:

• A proposal by the Sacred Heart Fraternity, Mosman, that the NSW/ACT Region be split into three parts. This proposal needs to be discussed before our representatives attend the Regional Chapter on the second weekend in November.
• Papers by Father Alban Mitchell titled "Secular Franciscans and Vatican II" and "To Have the Spirit of the Lord and His Holy Way of Acting." A third paper "The Rule" was attached to our May issue.

Transitus. The Transitus will be celebrated at 2:30pm on Saturday 3 October at Hèléne’s place, 129 Springvale Drive Weetangera. If you haven’t already done so, please confirm your attendance to Hèléne by telephoning 6254 3054 so that she can plan for numbers.

October Meeting. The meeting will be at 8pm on Friday 23^rd October at Marian Hall, Stutchbury Street, Page. As previously advised, Hèléne has kindly agreed to lead us in consideration of "Gifts of the Holy Spirit".

Regional Chapter. The NSW/ACT Regional Chapter will be held at Hartzer Park, Bowral on the 2^nd weekend in November. Hèléne, Marty and Pam will attend.

Social Function. As decided at the August meeting, a Christmas social function in the form of a barbecue is to be held at 4pm on Saturday 21^st November at Weston Park.

September Meeting. We were delighted that Fr Eddie Tomic was able to join us, say Mass and give us an inspiring talk.

Cec spoke to us about the coming elections. He pointed out that the Spirit is specially with us at election times. He reminded us that, though we see ourselves as a small group, many Fraternities are even smaller. He assured us that the Spirit will give us graces through the officers of the Fraternity and we all need to keep ourselves open to the Spirit.

Jack read out a message from members of St Josephs Fraternity at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA which contains a much appreciated affirmation for our Fraternity.

Regional Fraternity Meeting. The cancelled meeting has been replaced by a Franciscan Family Day at Campbelltown 10:30am to 3:30pm Sunday 4 October including Mass at 2pm. A notice from the Regional Minister was attached. It would be great if some of us could join with other Franciscans in celebrating the Feast.

Oceania Newsletter. The August newsletter was enclosed for those members who were unable to pick one up at the September meeting.

National Levy. The National Levy has now been paid based on the number of professed members in the Fraternity. Loui’s records indicate that quite a number have not paid him yet. He will be approaching them to check whether his records are correct.

Revised List of Members. There have been a few requests for issue of an updated Address List of Members. This will accompany the first ‘Canberra Franciscan’ with which there is room for an extra attachment.

Apologies. Fr Eddie apologised that he will not be able to attend the Transitus due to other commitments.

Prayers. Please remember that we agreed to keep up our prayers for vocations to the SFO! Please pray that the Holy Spirit will be with the novices who are receiving instruction.
